The Chimney House is looking for a sous chef to replace a long serving member of the team who is moving on to new things.
We are looking for a skilled, calm, organised and loyal sous chef to join our small pub team.
At the Chimney House we put an emphasis on wild ingredients to show case what the fields and hedgerows of this island have to offer and reflect them on the plate.
We use a variety of modern as well as ancient techniques such as pickling, fermenting, curing and sourdough breads, because some times the old ways are the best.
As well as this we also cook more traditional dishes such as Beer battered fish, steaks and burgers on our bar snacks menu all using the best produce.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role or be an experienced chef de partie looking to progress.
You will be able to work on all sections.
Lead and motivate a small team as well as being able to work alone on quiet shifts.
Look after day to day running of the kitchen, daily ordering, prep lists, checking deliveries and liaising with suppliers to resolve any issues.
Able to aid in the development of new dishes and menus.
In return we can offer a salary of £24k plus tip share and all the usual holiday entitlements, pension etc…
